2024 — Prototype at Clínica Tepati

CIVIC's journey began in the humble halls of Clínica Tepati. A small team of developers, volunteers, and clinicians collaborated directly inside the clinic environment—observing intake, following daily workflows, and collecting real-world insights. The goal was simple: create tools that fit clinical reality rather than forcing clinics to adapt to software. Rapid iterations and constant feedback transformed the early prototype into practical features that genuinely supported volunteers and clinicians alike.
Oct 2025 — National Debut
October 2025
After over a year of development, CIVIC made its national debut at the Society of Student-Run Free Clinics Annual Conference. The team showcased the integrated dashboard, referral system, and volunteer health tracker. Attendees from across the country tested the tools in live demos, sparking collaborations with multiple clinics. Workshops and Q&A sessions generated invaluable insights that will continue shaping the platform as it grows.
2026 — Scale Nationwide
2026
Based on the momentum from prototypes and national exposure, CIVIC plans to scale nationwide beginning in 2026. Clinics of all sizes will be able to adopt the tools, with new features such as AI-assisted scheduling, mobile patient tracking, and enhanced reporting already in development. Training materials and community forums will support volunteers and coordinators. Through careful, collaborative growth, CIVIC aims to become a trusted platform for student-run and volunteer-led clinics across the country.
